Green industry gives new perspective to the textile industry

Jiang Ming was born in 1964. From 1984 to 1988, he studied wool textiles at Qingdao University. From 1988 to 1999, he worked in Zibo Chemical Fiber Plant. From 1999 to 2006, he established the Zibo Site Textile Co., Ltd. as a general manager in partnership with others. In 2006, she started her own business and established Zibo Nizier Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Nyquire”) as its chairman and general manager. In April 2013, Qingdao Nyquil Biotech Co., Ltd. was established as chairman.

The company is engaged in the marine biomass new material seaweed fiber, natural biomass new material corn silk, natural bamboo charcoal application research and development industrialization, in the seaweed medical dressing, naval naval warfare first aid kit, flame retardant combat suits, etc., all for the domestic initiative, to fill Domestic and military blanks.

30 years have done one thing

On May 4, the reporter went to an interview with the company's high-tech zone, Nyquil. Jiang Ming warmly welcomed reporters to the product showroom. The eye-catching shirts, pajamas, towels and other products made from corn fiber and seaweed fibers were seen.

These products and achievements started from the majors studied in the era of Jiangming University. In 1984, Jiang Ming was admitted to Qingdao University to study wool textiles. After graduation, he entered the Zibo Chemical Fiber Plant. In 1999, with the idea of young people going out to work, Jiang Ming left here and partnered with a friend to open a textile export trade company.

With a professional background and years of hard work in the textile industry, Jiang Ming knows the cruelty of the traditional textile industry. “Industrialized development in depth requires the development of new materials and new products.” In 2006, in order to win a hand in the textile industry, Jiang Ming started his own business and founded the Nyquill Textile Technology Development Co., Ltd.

“At that time, pure cotton was prevalent in China. But six or seven years ago, foreign countries gradually reduced their cotton clothing and substituted them with corn fiber and bamboo fiber.” Jiang Ming calculated an account: two tons of corn can produce one ton of corn fiber. Compared with cotton, the cost is greatly reduced. He began to stare at this gap in China and turned his attention to the development of corn fiber.

However, at the time in China, textile companies specialized in production, either weaving only or spinning only. "New product development involves dyeing and finishing, manufacturing, spinning, etc. Focusing on one point, it is very difficult to form a research and development chain." Jiang Ming is willing to give it a try. "A matching ratio is not enough, and a batch of cloth will be completely abandoned." Under such pressure, one year later, the corn clothing successfully passed the small test and the pilot test. In 2010, the corn silk product line was industrialized.

During this period, Jiang Ming also saw the state leaders visit Germany in media reports and was given a seaweed shirt by the German side. In 2005, he learned that Professor Xia Yanzhi of his alma mater, Qingdao University, was developing seaweed fiber and decided to cooperate with the teacher.

In August 2009, Jiang Ming and Qingdao University signed a cooperation agreement on the application and development of seaweed fibers, and jointly established the Qingdao University-Natchel Textile New Material Technology R&D Center, and hired “Taishan Scholar” Xia Yan to be Director of the R&D Center. After toughening, PM2.5 masks containing seaweed fibers were launched in August 2013. Algae's high-end medical dressings, blood collection kits and wound dressings will be market-oriented.

It was exactly the area where new fiber industrialization had not been involved. Jiang Ming found a way out, and Nyzyh gradually became the “dark horse” of the Chinese textile industry. In his own words, one thing has been done in these years.

Excavate the green benefits of natural fiber

At the beginning of the establishment of the Nyquil company, Jiang Ming decided to take a green textile industry road to develop green, low-carbon, environmentally-friendly new textile materials (corn, bamboo, hemp, chitin, and seaweed fibers). . "Currently, in textile fibers, chemical fibers are the majority, and they are difficult to degrade after being discarded. Natural fibers can be biodegraded and can be recycled." Excavating green benefits is Jiang Ming's goal.

“Maize fiber clothing is green and environmental, and it can be degraded within 30 days when buried in soil. Compared with chemical fiber clothing, its production process can also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 50%.” In addition to corn fiber, the prospect of seaweed fiber, ginger Ming is more confident. “Traditional textile raw materials come mainly from land and petroleum, and seaweed comes from the sea and is a renewable resource that is inexhaustible.” He believes that seaweed fiber is a high-end technology product, and today’s land and oil resources are declining. Under the situation, it is advancing toward the sea and developing the third source of fiber, which has become a new way for human survival and development.

In addition, Jiang Ming injects alginate fiber into the textile industry, and its large-scale application will greatly reduce the use of cotton and cultivated land to ensure China's food security. “China is a large seaweed producing country. The industrialization of seaweed fibers will drive the output value, and it is of great significance to the textile industry, planting industry and marine ecological maintenance.”

At the same time, seaweed fiber has the nature of natural self-fire retardant properties, no harmful gases after the fire, which is unmatched by other materials. Jiang Ming told reporters that at present, seaweed fiber products are mainly for the military and fire services, will be mass production in the future, for ordinary people.

Adhere to the development of the green textile industry, rely on green industries, access to economic benefits. "The seaweed fiber project is conducive to environmental protection and benefits our grandchildren."

"Smile curve" innovative business philosophy

In addition to R&D, Jiang Ming also focuses on the market. “After R&D of new materials and finished products is to be accepted by the market, it is necessary to establish an operational network of R&D, design, production, logistics, distribution, terminals, and brands.”

This integration is vividly depicted as a "smile curve." Jiang Ming firmly grasps both the R&D and brand sides of the “smile curve” and integrates various links in the manufacturing, sales, and other industrial chains. "Can not be limited to production, lengthen the industry chain, in order to produce benefits, change the smile curve into a smile curve." Jiang Ming said.

From textiles to garments, Jiang Ming diverted production to major domestic companies, while controlling the core technologies in the assembly line and protecting intellectual property rights. This ensures that the company will devote its energy to R&D and sales, and become a “light company” that always maintains light assets. On sales, the company sells fabrics and sells garments, fabrics are sold to big brands, Hengyuanxiang has more than 2,000 stores, and Mercury Home Textiles has 3,000 stores.

Although there is no factory, Jiang Ming has done things that many well-known textile companies can not match. This business model is considered by industry experts and outside experts as a model for the transformation of the traditional textile industry. "We studied Nike, Adidas, and applied for patents from fabrics to finished products." They used the Nike Addi model to realize the dream of seven wolves [0.00% fund research].

Jiang Ming said that the development of Nyzer relied on an innovation alliance and benefited from government support. Innovation allowed the company to win social recognition. In 2011, Jiang Ming was awarded the title of "Star of Entrepreneurship" in Zibo City. “I can make people use affordable algae fiber products and save arable land resources. I think it's very meaningful. I can be satisfied to do this.” Jiang Ming’s words let reporters feel the responsibility of an entrepreneur and his inner strength. Positive energy.

China's textile industry has a long history, and Nigel is only a small part of it. However, Jiang Ming has used a series of innovative practices to inject vitality into Zibo's textile industry and inspired textile companies to reshuffle and become pilots in the ecological textile era.

In the eight years since the establishment of Nigel, Jiang Ming has invested 67,000 yuan. Looking ahead, he believes there is still a lot of work to do. They will continue to commit themselves to the technological R&D and industrialization of natural textile-friendly functional new textile materials, and establish a powerful sales channel to deliver information and products to consumers for the benefit of society.
