This device independently developed by my country can save 15% energy for the subway

How to reduce the power consumption of the subway? What should I do if there is a sudden power outage when people take the subway? Recently, a reporter from Science and Technology Daily learned from Beijing Jiaotong University that the ground-based supercapacitor/battery hybrid energy storage device independently developed by the school’s researchers has been tested in Liyuan Station on the Batong Line of the Beijing Metro. The device can not only recycle the braking energy of the train, but also use the energy storage device to pull the train to the subway station in an emergency when the power supply system fails.

According to reports, this project is a sub-project of the National "Thirteenth Five-Year" key research and development plan "Key Technologies for Energy Consumption Process Decoupling and Energy Efficiency Improvement of Rail Transit Systems" undertaken by the Yang Zhongping & Lin Fei Laboratory of Beijing Jiaotong University. It has recently passed Acceptance by the expert group. Expert review opinions believe that the project has built a joint simulation platform for urban rail transit vehicle operation and power supply systems; developed a supercapacitor/lithium titanate battery hybrid energy storage device. Through third-party evaluation, the average energy saving rate is more than 15%.

Professor Yang Zhongping, the head of the laboratory, has been committed to studying the absorption and utilization of energy storage and regenerative braking of rail transit super capacitors. In 2016, he led the team to develop my country's first 200kW and 1MW ground supercapacitor energy storage system, which was successfully operated on the Batong Line of the Beijing Metro. The energy storage device has been put into operation on many subway lines in Qingdao and Guangzhou. He told reporters that with the rapid growth of the total mileage of my country's rail transit operations, the electricity consumption of the urban rail transit system has also increased year by year, and in 2019 it has accounted for 3‰ of the country's total electricity consumption. Compared with the scientific research results in 2016, the successfully tested hybrid energy storage device can save an average of 150 kWh per day. It saves about 1500 kWh per day on weekdays, with an energy saving rate of 13%; on weekends, it saves about 900 kWh per day, with an energy saving rate of over 17%. If calculated by saving 1 kilowatt-hour of electricity and reducing 0.977 kg of carbon dioxide, the device will reduce 1.46 tons of carbon dioxide per day on weekdays and 0.88 tons of carbon dioxide per day on weekends.
