Dutch scientists develop new technologies for carbon dioxide generation

According to foreign media reports, according to foreign media reports, Dutch scientists have discovered a new technology that uses abandoned carbon dioxide generated by power plants to generate electricity that can generate 400 times more electricity than the US Hoover Dam in one year. Their system consists of mixing water and other liquids with combustion gases containing high-concentration carbon dioxide and pumping them from the two layers of the membrane to produce electricity.

Dutch scientists believe they have proposed a new technology that unlocks the mystery of using waste carbon dioxide emitted by current power plants. This technology may help reduce the content of greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere in the future. Scientists believe that greenhouse gases are an important factor in global warming.

These scientists propose a method for generating energy from carbon dioxide that power stations, industries, and households exclude. They believe that using this method can produce 157 billion kilowatts of electricity a year. This amount of electricity is equivalent to 400 times the output of the Hoover Dam in one year.

Before testing a new theory of Hamel's with a real power station, more research must be done on this technology. In order to cater to the increasing demand of society for electricity, this method of generating additional energy is expected to replace the current expansion of power plants.

The scientists wrote in the American Chemical Society's "Environmental Science and Technology Letter" that this method uses exhaust gas from power plants and industrial chimneys as raw materials for power generation. They said that coal, oil, and gas power stations generate more than 12 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide per year, and that household and commercial heating systems generate 11 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide. The research group proposed this method of using energy from carbon dioxide generated by power plants, industries and households. They believe that using this method can generate 157 billion kilowatts of electricity a year.

Dr. Harmales, the project director of the Netherlands Sustainable Water Technology Research Center, said that the amount of electricity is equivalent to 400 times that of the Hoover Dam one year. He pointed out that these amounts of electricity are generated without releasing any extra carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. However, it does not remove carbon dioxide from the Earth's atmosphere as carbon capture and storage technology does. Hamelles said: "You use what you waste now. You collect it and make more energy, but you can't seal it."

Carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology is the process of collecting carbon dioxide from power plants and other facilities and storing it in one place. This storage site was buried in a geological formation below the ground. Carbon capture and storage technology has the potential to control fossil fuels to increase global warming, but this method is now only used commercially, and long-term storage of carbon dioxide is still a relatively new concept.

Since this technology developed by Dutch scientists is currently a proof-of-concept technology, there are still some very effective methods before using it on a large scale. NBC News reported that Hamelles and his research team used their famous experiment to pass carbon dioxide and air through a liquid to test their theories. The current energy production process uses more energy than it generates, but the filter membrane process developed by these scientists uses less energy.

Hamelles said: "Our goal is to prove that carbon dioxide is a promising source of energy, and it has practical uses." But he admitted that before testing this technology with a real power station, Do more research on it. In order to cater to the increasing demand of society for electricity, this method of generating additional energy is expected to replace the current expansion of power plants. (xiaowen)

Buttweld pipe fittings comprises of long radius elbow, Concentric Reducer, eccentric reducers and Tees. They are an important part of industrial piping system to change direction, branch off or to mechanically join equipment to the system. Buttweld fittings are sold in nominal pipe sizes with specified pipe schedule. BW fitting`s dimensions and tolerances are defined as per ASME standard B16.9.

Butt Weld fittings are also called Welded Pipe fittings. These welded fittings in carbon steel and stainless steel offer many advantages compared to threaded and socketweld fittings. The later are only available up to 4-inch nominal size whereas butt weld fittings are available in sizes from ½" to 102".

Reducing Elbow: Fittings that change direction in a piping system are called elbows. The directional change is given in degree such as 45 or 90. Long radius 90 degree elbow has the center line of elbow at 1.5 x  NPS from eblow end.  And the elbow ends in two different outdiameters
