1. Partially grayed or even some places have a mesh pattern

According to relevant data and research results of relevant process manufacturers, the main reasons for this gray zinc layer are:

(1) The result of the difference in silicon content of steel. When hot dip galvanizing, due to the presence of silicon, the mutual diffusion of zinc and iron is accelerated, the alloy is formed too fast, and before the galvanizing water is cooled, it grows to the surface of the zinc layer, and the gloss of zinc is brighter than that of the alloy layer, thus causing dullness. . Forming the mesh pattern is a result of uneven formation of the alloy.

(2) Another reason is that the galvanizing temperature is too high, the alloy reaction is accelerated, and the gray color is increased. In fact, after the galvanized product is installed, the internal zinc-iron diffusion does not stop, and the alloy layer will gradually grow to the surface of the zinc, which is also a reason why the galvanized parts are gradually grayed out. This appearance is difficult to avoid due to process conditions. The process manufacturer should control the temperature, and should also grasp that the cooling time of the water should not be too fast or too slow, and the dark coating should be reduced as much as possible. Quality control personnel under construction should not over-emphasize the existence of dark coatings. It should be specially noted that the galvanized surface turtle crack is caused by the effluent cooling too fast.

2. More surface zinc particles

The surface roughness of zinc particles is mainly caused by the following reasons:

(1) sandwiching slag-plating particles;

(2) The temperature is too low, the iron in the zinc solution is supersaturated and precipitated, and combined with zinc to form zinc block alloy particles, which are attached to the workpiece;

(3) The workpiece is removed from the zinc liquid too quickly.

There are three main reasons for surface roughness:

(1) The material itself is not smooth;

(2) excessive pickling;

(3) The temperature is too high, the zinc immersion time is too long, the alloy layer grows too fast, and the surface of the zinc layer grows.

This negative appearance phenomenon is mainly reduced from two aspects:

(1) The material selection is smooth;

(2) Select a steel with a wide range of zinc immersion temperatures to avoid galvanizing at too low temperatures and excessive temperatures.

3. White rust grows on the zinc layer

White rust is also known as storing wet rust. The white marks on the surface of the stacked plating parts are caused by wet weather or no ventilation after rain and cannot be dried. The solution is:

(1) Change storage conditions and enhance ventilation;

(2) Strengthen the passivation treatment after galvanizing to form a protective film. Once white rust appears, it can be rinsed with a dilute acetic acid solution.

4. There are solvent inclusions or dew on the surface of the zinc layer.

Mainly due to the fact that the components are not degreased before galvanizing, the pickling is not enough, or the solvent is adhered after treatment. Solvents must be removed by corrosive effects on the galvanized layer.

The iron is also caused by the immersion of galvanized liquid. Pickling and degreasing are not clean and the material itself is not flat.
