PetroChina invests 3.2 billion yuan to build Zhejiang Zhoushan Biofuel ethanol project

China National Petroleum Corporation and Holley Group Co., Ltd. will jointly build Zhejiang Zhoushan Biofuel ethanol project.

At present, the environmental impact assessment document for the construction project has been reported to the Environmental Impact Assessment Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.

It is reported that the construction project is located in the uplifting Lingang Industrial Zone in Liuheng Palm Cove, Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province. This is a 300,000-ton/year fuel ethanol project using dried cassava as raw material, mainly including 300,000 tons/year of main fuel ethanol production. Equipment and supporting public works, auxiliary production facilities, etc. The total investment of the project is 3.252848 billion yuan, of which 297.31 million yuan is environmental protection investment.

According to the Institute of Agricultural Economics of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, cassava is the most economically viable type of biomass energy in non-food crops.

From the economic benefit point of view, cassava has the lowest production cost and higher productivity in similar non-food crops. It is estimated that to produce 1 ton of alcohol requires unit consumption of different raw materials: 17 tons of sugarcane, 9 tons of potato, 8.7 tons of sweet potato, 7 tons of fresh cassava (or about 3 tons of dried cassava chips); in terms of raw material costs, the cost of cassava About 2,500 yuan, while the cost of sugarcane and corn is about 3,000 yuan; in terms of productivity, cassava yields higher yields of land ethanol than sugar cane, and its net energy ratio is as high as 3.56, while the net energy ratio of sugar cane is only up to 1.7. . Therefore, fuel ethanol made from cassava is not only called environmentally friendly "green gasoline" that can replace gasoline, but also is the most economically viable biomass energy.

According to the 12th Five-Year Plan for Renewable Energy, which is still being solicited for opinions, by 2015, the annual utilization of biofuel ethanol in China will reach 3 million tons, which means that China will add 1.2 million tons of biomass in the next five years. Fuel ethanol production.

It is understood that China's dry cassava supply mainly depends on imports from Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, of which more than 80% comes from Thailand.

A series of large-scale projects such as biofuel ethanol, built in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, will change the face of the island, which used to be dominated by agriculture and fishery. It is understood that at present, Zhoushan, Zhejiang is still planning to build a COSCO shipyard with a total investment of 3 billion yuan and a 2.6 billion yuan investment in the Liangtan Island iron ore transfer project.

In July 2011, the State Council formally approved the establishment of the Zhoushan Islands New Area in Zhejiang Province as a leading area for the development of marine economy in Zhejiang, an experimental zone for marine comprehensive development, and an important growth pole for economic development in the Yangtze River Delta.
