Use fire to identify jade B goods

When the Hong Kong jade market began to appear in the B-car jade, the quantity and variety were relatively small, and the technology for manufacturing B-goods was not very high. People can distinguish the B-car jade with the naked eye and the feeling.

I remember that in 1988, more and more B goods entered the market, the quantity and variety were more, and the technology of manufacturing B goods became more and more sophisticated. It is difficult to identify whether it is B or jade with the naked eye and by feeling. Both buyers and sellers often cause controversy, and the quarrels are red and sometimes even big. Sometimes, in order to decide whether or not B goods are jade, after consultation between the two parties, the method of fire is used to identify whether it is B goods, and the fire usually burns for dozens of minutes. Brown-colored spots appear to be B goods, the buyer can not buy, if not discolored, is the jade A goods, the buyer must buy.

Burning jade is a destructive method of identification, but there is a certain reason to use this method to identify, natural jadeite A goods that have not been glued, no heating will occur when heated to 400-500 degrees Celsius. Variety. Because Jadeite A is a sodium aluminosilicate, it is a kind of crystal. Its melting point is high. It starts to melt above 900 degrees Celsius to form a glassy sodium aluminosilicate melt, and it does not become carbon. The general lamp candle is difficult to achieve such a temperature, and the B jade jadeite has to be loosened due to the acid treatment, and it is necessary to enter the glue to maintain its life with the glue cement. The chemical composition is a resin composed of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. When heated to 400 degrees Celsius, hydrogen and oxygen disappear, leaving only carbon, ie carbonization.

Since the jade B goods are burned, the gum is damaged, and the jade is glueless and loosely becomes a crumb. Experiments have shown that when burning jade B, when the temperature rises to 350 degrees Celsius, the jade appears brownish yellow, and when the temperature rises to 400 degrees Celsius, the jade can turn black. Even the jadeite B, which has only been slightly treated, will appear black after the fire, but it will not become a crumb.

Because of the method of burning, it is a destructive identification method. Generally, this method is not used to identify jadeite.
