For the most effective measurement results, the orifice flowmeter should first note the following nine conditions:

1. When measuring the liquid pressure, the installation position of the transmitter should avoid the impact of the liquid (water hammer phenomenon), so as to avoid the sensor over-voltage damage.

2. When wiring, pass the cable through the waterproof connector (accessory) or the winding tube and tighten the sealing nut to prevent rainwater from leaking into the transmitter housing through the cable.

3. When freezing occurs in winter, according to the orifice flowmeter installed outside, it is necessary to take pressure to take antifreeze measures to prevent the liquid in the pressure inlet from expanding due to the volume of ice, leading to damage to the sensor.

4. Prevent dross from depositing in the conduit;

5. When measuring the liquid pressure, the pressure tap should be opened on the side of the process pipe to avoid sedimentation.

6. The pressure guiding pipe should be installed in a place with small temperature fluctuations;

7. When measuring the gas pressure, the pressure tap should be opened at the top of the process pipe, and the transmitter should also be installed in the upper part of the process pipe so that the accumulated liquid can be easily injected into the process pipe.

8. Prevent the orifice flowmeter from coming into contact with corrosive or overheated media;

9. When measuring steam or other high-temperature medium, it is necessary to add a condenser such as a buffer tube (coil), and the operating temperature of the transmitter should not exceed the limit.



Secondly, the following six conditions must be noted during the use of the orifice flowmeter.

1. The new table or the standard orifice plate that is reactivated after a period of time should be checked for any blockage or leakage of the pressure piping before use. The liquid medium should be filled with clean water or other pressure guiding in the pressure piping. Liquid, pay attention to the gas mixed in the discharge line, and pay attention to the liquid in the discharge line for the gas medium.

2. Open the balance valve in the “three-valve group” before commissioning, close the valve on the pressure-reducing pipeline, check and correct the zero point of the differential pressure transmitter, and pay attention to the “zero point” in the positive and negative pressure chamber. Check the differential pressure transmitter when the pressure (ie, the differential pressure is equal to 0).

3. Even if the “balance valve” is fully open under the fluid flow condition, the zero point cannot be checked as long as the pressure-receiving valve on the positive pressure-reducing pressure line is not closed. Because the balance valve itself has resistance, the pressure of the positive and negative pressure chambers cannot be fully balanced, that is, the "zero differential pressure" state is not achieved.

4. When measuring the flow of dirty fluid, be sure to configure the settler or isolator. Pay attention to how the inlet, outlet and drain outlets of the pilot fluid are properly selected to achieve the purpose of discharge.

5. When measuring the flow rate of corrosive fluid, be sure to select a suitable isolator, select the appropriate spacer according to the specific gravity of the medium, and pay attention to the reasonable choice of the inlet of the isolation fluid and the fluid to be measured.

6. Whether the design parameters of the standard orifice plate are consistent with the actual parameters is directly related to the measurement accuracy. When the standard orifice plate is put into use, if the measured parameters are within the range of design parameters, the measurement accuracy will generally not exceed the design calculation accuracy; however, if the measured parameters are far from the design parameter range (assuming standard orifice and differential pressure transmitters) If the selection, manufacture and installation meet the requirements), it may be that the design parameters provided are incorrect. The design parameters should be changed and the standard orifice plate should be redesigned.



Finally, there are two important things to note when servicing an orifice flow meter.

1. The daily maintenance work is mainly to remove the scale inside the settler or the isolator, and periodically discharge it from the sewage outlet. When the measured medium is high temperature and high pressure corrosion or toxic fluid, it is necessary to pay attention to safety when cleaning.

2. The zero point of the differential pressure transmitter sometimes drifts, which affects the measurement accuracy (especially when the flow rate is small and the differential pressure is close to the lower limit value). It is necessary to check the zero point frequently. Good quality differential pressure transmitters can be extended to zero years according to experience, while poor quality may be zero once every few days, so we recommend using a good quality differential pressure transmitter to reduce the daily maintenance workload. .
