Hefei Research Institute Makes Progress in Micro-nano-electrochemical Detection of Arsenic

Recently, researchers from the Bairen Project Huang Xingjiu Researcher of the Bionics Materials and Sensors Research Center of the Institute of Intelligent Physics, Institute of Intelligent Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Liu Jinhua, a research scientist led by Professor Liu Jinhuai from 973, have conducted research on micro-nano-electrochemical detection of arsenic. For a long time, groundwater arsenic pollution has become a worldwide environmental problem and has been described by the World Health Organization as "the greatest harm in human history." The achievement of trace, high accuracy, and high selectivity detection of arsenic in groundwater environments is the key to correctly assessing environmental pollution and can provide scientific basis for environmental management, planning, and pollution control. In recent years, researchers of this research group have been devoted to exploring the feasibility of nano-materials used in electrical analysis to realize the feasibility testing of inorganic arsenic in the environment. Through the investigation and summarization of related documents, the author has proposed his own understanding and understanding of electroanalytical techniques for detecting inorganic arsenic. The research results are also published in the form of reviews in the Analytical Chemistry Trends.

Recently, from the perspective of practical application, researchers from the Institute of Intelligent Research of the Hefei Research Institute rely on the groundwater in Xingwangzhuang Village, Tuoketuo County, Inner Mongolia as a backdrop, and constructed a microelectrode of nanostructured electrochemical microelectrode by means of a simple method. Its application has been systematically studied from various perspectives. The electrochemical detection of arsenic in groundwater, and discussion of the influence of inorganic ions and organic molecules on the detection of arsenic in groundwater, the efficient and accurate detection of arsenic in the complex groundwater environment, and real-time analysis of arsenic pollution in a large number of monitoring points. At the same time, it also provides a method for highly efficient and stable on-line detection of arsenic. Research papers were published in the environmental journal "Hazardous Materials."
